Your role

Based in Puurs (Belgium), you will be responsible for:

  • Defining, managing, and executing the budget for technical investments in the Puurs factory as part of the overall European approved budget.
  • Designing and implementing the industrial structure in response to business strategy and aligned with industrial management.
  • Serving as a technical guide and part of the digitalization processes of production processes, while implementing the environmental and energy sustainability strategy defined by the Global Engineering department.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiency projects as part of a continuous improvement process initiated in the Operations area.
  • Reporting directly to the Engineering Director Europe, with a dotted line to the Puurs Factory Director.
  • Managing projects at our various European factories as part of the European Engineering team, supporting both company needs and your professional growth. However, for the first 2-3 years, you will primarily focus on projects based in Puurs.

 

 

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Managing the technical projects assigned by the direct manager with the use of specific processes and tools of the project management methodology to achieve performance objectives in terms of quality, budget, and timing.
  • Defining the technical specifications and requirements of each project you are involved in, in order to request offers to suppliers and analyze them from a technical and economic point of view.
  • Managing commercial negotiations of technical systems (counting on the support of the purchasing department if needed).
  • Managing administrative tasks of projects in terms of: CAPEX request, purchase order, billing verification, etc.
  • Operating with a continuous improvement perspective when defining and implementing efficiency projects and/or waste reduction personally identified or assigned by the direct manager, as well as technically supporting efficiency projects of other functions.
  • Supporting factories in the implementation of the ongoing digitization process and managing OT (operational technology) issues.
  • Designing new and modifying existing plants for sustainable engineering in terms of environmental impact and energy efficiency (reduction of consumption and CO2 footprint).
  • Managing or being part of cross-functional project teams with a project organization and not a matrix organization structure
  • Participating in the development of a multi-year plan to ensure the performance of existing industrial assets and the technical and technological development of the factory of Puurs and the European factories in general.

Requirements

Who are we looking for? 

  • Your engineering degree provides a strong foundation for success in this position.
  • You have a proven track record of at least 5 years in engineering projects in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated experience within the food & beverage industry is essential.
  • You master project management methodology.
  • You bring experience in digitalizing production processes, and you are familiar with the world of SCADA and MES for traceability and performance measurement (OEE) activities.
  • Knowledge of methodologies related to continuous improvement (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma) is required.
  • You’re flexible to travel.
  • You communicate fluently in both Dutch and English. Both languages are an absolute must!
