Job description

 

At GBfoods we offer culinary solutions in several countries of Europe and Africa with prestigious leading local brands, including Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand'Italia and Blå Band, among others.

Our Purpose “Celebrating local flavours” is to empower and take care of each of the local communities we belong to and to bring out their authentic flavours. Some of our local brands have been in consumers' kitchens for over a century and have positioned themselves as authentically loved brands, as well as deeply rooted parts of the local culture.

Today, with a turnover of around 1,2 billion euros and a team of around 3,000 people, we are the preferred choice of millions of consumers.

 

Key Result Areas:

  • Develops and executes the HR strategy of the organization
  • Understands the business context, and current organizational trends and uses these insights to improve business performance.
  • Abreast with modern trends in HR and people analytics and uses these insights to influence HR decisions and initiatives
  • Develops and implements the company's talent strategy, integrating diversity and inclusion.
  • Coaches and advises business leaders in the optimization of organization and team design techniques to improve performance
  • Develops an effective Employee Relations strategy
  • Designs and manages a compelling Reward and Remuneration Strategy that is competitive and effective in the attraction and retention of key employees
  • Builds managers’ capability in people management and retention of key employees
  • Leads the development and implementation of HR Policies for the Ghana Business.
  • Manages the Ghana HR Budget.
  • Develops the long-, medium-, and short-term engagement plans to grow and maintain engagement levels of staff
  • Leads in the creation of a culture that recognizes and celebrates individual, team, and organizational performance
  • Demonstrates the ability to face reality and take tough decisions which focus on cost, quality, service, and people to deliver sustainable results.
  • Drives an HR agenda that is highly commercially focused, ensuring the success of the Route-To-Market change process.
  • Tactifully leads the engagement with labour union to build trust and promote a conducive environment

Requirements

Person Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a  Professional HR Certification will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading the HR Agenda in a similar organization
  • Ability to win the trust and confidence of the General Manager for the Business Unit
  • Ability to develop strong and effective relationships with all stakeholders
  • Experience of dealing with key external stakeholders, for example, unions, regulatory bodies, governmental agencies, industry groups, etc. to gain support on key issues and / or create a favourable business environment
  • Experience of defining, planning and shaping strategies and initiatives that set direction for an organisation and / or business unit;
  • Ability to break down and operationalize vision into small achievable goals
  • Good knowledge of key HR processes, roles, and responsibilities across the entire HR lifecycle
