Job description

Role & Responsibilities:

The primary function of the Country Security Officer is to support the Regional Security Manager (RSM) on all issues of security as they relate to staff and programs in the country in which they operate. To also stand as a first line of security intervention for all staffs in that country.

 

Results / Accountabilities

    • Timely Coordination of all security related matters to eliminate security related losses
    • Management of all third-party security and stakeholders.
    • To manage and process all security related costs.
    • First-hand intervention and investigation of all security related matters e.g. theft, arson, violence, Police arrests, and obstructions.
    • To bring to the attention of the RSM any local projects that may have security implications.
    • To ensure practical implementation of best security practices.
    • Assisting the RSM in spreading personal security awareness in his facility (this includes training programmes)
    • Daily, weekly, monthly country-specific security Incident reporting.

Requirements

   1.   Degree or post graduate diploma in Security Management/Operations, Crime Prevention/Detection and Investigations from a recognised establishment or any of the Social Sciences.

  1. Security Managers/Supervisors’ Course Certificates from a recognised establishment.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, two (2) of which must be in a commercial or business environment
  3. Must be computer literate.
  4. Knowledge of security issues almost certainly acquired from the past 5 years ie.in the Police Service, Armed Forces or security industry.
  5. Experience of dealing with Line and Senior Managers.
  6. Strategic Security Experience - Experienced at formulating simple security plan to resolve complicated issues.
  7. Experience of interaction with large numbers, multiple site work, managing different shifts, working with the police, police patrols and report writing.
  8. Appreciable level of presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Must have some knowledge in electronic surveillance systems, conducting investigations, formulating and implementing Preventive measures to manage complexities.
  10. Must be fully mobile and available at a 24-hour call to respond to crisis situations
  11. Should have a driving license and be able to drive.
