Job description

At GBfoods we offer culinary solutions in several countries of Europe and Africa with prestigious leading local brands, including Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand'Italia and Blå Band, among others. GBfoods Africa operates in 24 countries with a Regional office in Accra - Ghana.

Our Purpose “Celebrating local flavours” is to empower and take care of each of the local communities we belong to and to bring out their authentic flavours. Some of our local brands have been in consumers' kitchens for over a century and have positioned themselves as authentically loved brands, as well as deeply rooted parts of the local culture.

Role:

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer,

The Regional Strategy Manager, Africa will be responsible for driving business growth and success by leading strategy development, execution, and evaluation. The role holder will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, focusing on strategic planning, data-driven decisions, sustainability, performance reporting, and collaboration across Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Performance Management

  • Provide support on the definition of the GBfoods Africa Strategic plans, working with senior level management to define priorities and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, tracking milestones, risks, and performance outcomes.
  • Scout the market for M&A opportunities, support with due diligence and post-integration activities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Provide support for Business Units Strategy Projects
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports and insights on key business metrics.

Sustainability & Transformation

  • Drive organizational transformation including management of projects and strategic support on key projects across Africa.
  • Support leadership in identifying areas for operational improvement and business growth.
  • Identify opportunities for integrating sustainability into business operations and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement sustainability programs.

NB: Candidate must be willing and able to relocate to Ghana (relocation support provided)

Requirements

Behavorial & Technical Competencies

  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in executive leadership, consulting, strategy, project management or business operations.
  • Possess International experience, working in diverse multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, and performance tracking.
  • Skilled in market analysis, competitor research, and identifying trends.
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Knowledge of change management to drive successful strategy adoption.
  • Familiar with digital transformation and using technology to boost business performance.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Critical thinking and have a high sense of curiosity.
  • A good team player and proactive.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional leadership by influence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
