Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this position is to ensure a constant and reliable engineering support/service to the entire operations of the company.

Results / Accountabilities

1.    Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure reliability and safety of machines.
2.    Design, implement, and maintain electrical control systems and automation solutions for industrial processes.
3.    Develop and program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
4.    Plan, design, and manage engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the required standards.
5.    Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues in a timely manner.
6.    Conduct regular inspection of equipment to identify and address potential issues.
7.    Allocate resources effectively for maintenance and project activities including labour, materials and equipment.
8.    Ensure all maintenance and project activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
9.    Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, project plans and progress report.
10.    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and IT to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
11.    Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and user manuals.
12.    Support commissioning and start-up activities for new equipment and systems.
13.    Provide timely response to machine breakdown to minimize downtime.
14.    Offer technical support to operators to enhance their performance and resolve issues.
15.    Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are carried out as per specifications to maintain equipment reliability.
16.    Ensure standby equipment is maintained and ready for use.
17.    Maintain discipline among team members.
18.    Check the availability of spare parts for maintenance.
