We are looking for a Data Analyst, who will be responsible for harnessing the power of data to drive strategic initiatives, optimize business performance and support the organisation's growth and success.  The role holder will be part of the IT & Digital Africa regional team and will collaborate with the IT & Digital Corporate Team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement projects focused on data engineering and integration, ensuring seamless data flow between various systems and tools such as Microsoft Azure Datalake, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Develop and maintain intuitive and interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, leveraging advanced DAX to provide deep insights into business performance.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to maintain and expand the existing data architecture, incorporating new digital solutions and applications as needed.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify relationships between variables, using techniques such as correlation analysis and linear regression to predict and explain business outcomes.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support various business initiatives, providing timely and actionable insights.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop data-driven recommendations, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations, reports, and visualizations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate effectively with multicultural teams across different locations, fostering a cohesive and productive working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. Master's degree or Data bootcamp will be a plus
  • 3 years of experience in data engineering, modelling and visualization.
  • 2 years of experience in project management, with a focus on data analytics / Data Science
  • Strong technical skills in navigating and expanding data architectures, particularly with Microsoft Azure Datalake, dbt, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in developing advanced dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, DAX syntax, Data Models and Power Pivots.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis, including correlation and linear regression, to derive meaningful insights.
  • Understanding of how AI and machine learning can be applied to improve business processes and outcomes.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and propose improvements to Gbfoods’s existing data architectures.
  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into data analytics solutions.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural teams, with strong interpersonal skills.
