Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide quality assurance support to the production process.

Results / Accountabilities

    1. Facilitate and coordinate the compilation and update of all documents & records. Ensures implementation of the appropriate GBfoods and Regulatory requirements (such as FDA, GSA, EPA etc) on Food Safety, Housekeeping, Environment.
    2. Acts as a resource and business partner on the methods used to conduct training, develop written documents/SOPs and perform internal reviews that meet the Regulatory/ Statutory/ GBfoods/ Customer requirements.
    3. Coordinates the conduct of internal process reviews and GBfoods annual audits
    4. Communicates the findings of these reviews/audits to management staff and ensures that items of non-conformance discovered during these reviews/audits or during normal daily operations are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
    5. Administrate document data system.
    6. Train all relevant parties on document & data control. Construct a system implementation plan – liaise with EHS Manager
    7. Creates the implementation schedule for factory & warehouses and monitors adherence to agree upon implementation goals and timelines.
    8. Schedule, lead and administer meetings on system implementation.
    9. Develop and conduct training to ensure awareness and understanding of business systems
    10. Assist all functions with writing of procedures and updating of documents
    11. Develop and maintain up to date legal/compliance register for effective management of systems requirements
    12. Develop/train and assess internal auditors.
    13. Ensure CA system is in place and tracked/monitored.
    14. Report on compliance to all systems requirements
    15. Any other duties to be assigned by the Quality/EHS Manager

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • Ideal: BSc degree or bachelor’s degree in food science, Biochemistry, Food Microbiology, Chemistry, Environment, Safety Occupational Health and/or Food Technology, BSc Sciences, BSc Engineering.
  • Minimum: National Diploma in Food Technology or BA degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality Systems or quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP) and quality management systems.
  • Must have auditing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to identify patterns and trends from data.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to drive process improvements.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the food industry.
