We are now loooking for a Technical Project Manager to join our Europe Technical team. The incumbent will be responsible for developing Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and execution of product development efforts for business specific initiatives. 

Leading interdisciplinary and international project teams. Managing all projects related tasks in cooperation with Business Units as well as GB Foods Group functions as Operations, Procurement and Quality Responsibilities include new product development,  Product renovation and line extensions and efficiency projects.

Incumbent will ensure that objectives, product design, quality and safety requirements are fulfilled, and cost and timelines are met. They respond resourcefully to new demands and challenges throughout the product development & commercialization process and implement best practices to ensure an effective knowledge transfer to manufacturing. Appropriate reporting to all stakeholders must be secured. They must support an environment that fosters change and calculated risk taking.

Technical Project Managers must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decisions within the cross functional team and externally with suppliers and/or co-manufacturers.

The incumbent manages a (group) of Product Developers and/or Technicians.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads multiple complex projects for new products, line extensions, quality & productivity initiatives under accelerated timetables.
  • Ensures a flawless Product Development and Commercialization Process, this through deployment of defined development standards and success criteria, responds resourcefully to new demands and challenges.
  • Manages the financial aspects and ensures all proper safety and quality documentation is done accurately and on schedule.
  • Organization of sensory assessment for related projects, if needed.
  • Up to date with Foods consumer trends, new Ingredients developments, vendor capabilities.
  • Forges a highly collaborative relationship and communication with Business Units, Operations functions and Co-manufacturers.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the desire to challenge assumptions and identify new opportunities and to apply learnings in an effective way.
  • Utilizes regulatory, nutritional, and sustainability guidance for all product development activities.
  • Responsible for technical leadership to Product Developers through coaching and creating meaningful IDPs.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement CI initiatives for recipe related factories issues/consumer complaints.
  • Provides technical expertise to Production, Quality and Purchasing Department.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Process Engineering, or Chemical Engineering degree with Product Development emphasis; preferably someone who has successfully commercialized ready to eat dry products in the market. 
  • 5+  years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-site and or multi-company projects.
  • Active knowledge and understanding in areas beyond Product Development including Process Development, Quality, Project Engineering and thorough understanding of Consumer testing methods, Marketing needs and financial concepts (costing, etc.)
  • Sustain a high level of competence and professionalism in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and QA/QC requirements
  • Demonstrates understanding of how to achieve results under tight timelines, plans ahead, monitors results and adapts plans, solution and results oriented;
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with internal stakeholders within different departments as Marketing, Operations, Quality and Procurement team and external collaborators as required, team-player
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Function requires a solid food technical background, leadership capabilities and passion to support business, operations, and the commercialization processes. Ability to interact and communicate effectively within a wide range inclusive of Cross Functional Peers, BU as well as Plant Management.
  • Can handle multiple projects and prioritize them based on business objectives and timelines.
  • Must be a good problem solver who is able to identify, interpret and analyze the correct data, and provide detailed direction to development projects.
  • Easily adapts to changing priorities.
  • Able to lead and work with a cross-functional technical team in achieving the results needed.
