We are now loooking for a Technical Project Leader to join our Europe Technical team. The incumbent will be responsible for working on product innovations within existing technologies, renovations, value engineering projects as per the brief agreed with the business unit. The role includes planning experiments, support in executing them, analyzing the information and data and draw scientific conclusions. The role entails understanding and application of principles of food science, food technology, food chemistry, food engineering and microbiology at lab, pilot and factory scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages low complex Technical projects for new products, line extensions, quality & productivity initiatives
  • Ensures a flawless project execution following the defined  Governance to make sure on time in full delivery.
  • Effective liaison with all relevant Operations & Supply Chain functions e.g. Global Technical Category Leader, purchasing, planning & factory team including Contract manufacturing, marketing and other cross functions.
  • Carry out new product development, renovate in-market products with superiority, in accordance with relevant guidelines (Nutrition, Sustainability, Eco-design),support cost effectiveness activities
  • Product development: Creation of formulation prototyping in kitchen lab, scaleup in pilot plant and deployment at main plant level as per brief within the cost, regulatory & sustainability framework.
  • Up to date with Foods consumer trends, new Ingredients developments, vendor capabilities.
  • Development of relevant technical datasheets and SOPs to ensure delivery of product quality, food safety and production action standards. Ensure compliance to GB standards and food regulation.
  • Conduct stability studies to establish or secure finished product shelf-life.
  • Product improvement & Value Engineering projects: Identify potential areas of flexing current specification/formulation, competition bench marking to drive potential savings, sustain product superiority.
  • Provides technical expertise to Production, Quality and Purchasing Department.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in food science/technology or related course
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in foods R&D (new product development and scale up preferred)
  • Strong communication skills to work with multi- functional project team
  • Able to work independently, self-motivated, proactive and fast learner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, good hands-on skills and fast actions, results driven, detail oriented.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
  • Work based travel, 10-20% of time approx., particularly to manufacturing locations, supplier location.
  • Incumbent reports to the respective platform Technical Program Manager.
