To support our Regulatory team in Lübeck, we are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist Germany (m/f/d) as a parental leave replacement. This role can be based in our offices in Lübeck, Germany, or Barcelona, Spain.

 

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee food law conformity of our products, including packaging, labelling, and advertising materials, in line with EU and national regulations.
  • Review Marketing Materials: Assess company advertising and materials to identify potential legal risks.
  • Local Regulatory Contact: Act as the primary contact for food law and product-specific inquiries within Germany.
  • Product Release Support: Facilitate the product release process in our product data management system.
  • Specification Management: Create, manage, and maintain product specifications and declarations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with quality management, product development, marketing, and other departments both locally and within Europe.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the creation of company policies and guidelines, based on regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • European Regulatory Team: Collaborate closely with international colleagues, providing support on cross-border food law issues and representing the German perspective.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Track and respond to changes in European directives and national laws affecting our products.
  • Guidance and Training: Provide regulatory instructions and training to other departments on labeling, product composition, and compliance matters.
  • Industry Liaison: Serve as the main contact for German food associations, including Kulinaria Deutschland, and work closely with the German managing director and the Corporate Regulatory Manager on these engagements.
  • Compliance Audits: Support responses to official inquiries, prepare statements, and assist in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with EU and local laws.

Anforderungen

Your Profile:

  • Educational Background: A university degree in food chemistry (preferably with a 2nd state examination), food science and technology, chemistry, or a comparable field, with relevant professional experience in food law.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Strong knowledge of EU food regulations, national laws, and Codex Alimentarius standards.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and presentation abilities; adept at managing complexity.
  • Professional Confidence: Ability to interact confidently with associations and regulatory authorities.
  • Team-Oriented: Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Language Skills: German and Fluent English proficiency.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in medium to large food companies, food associations, commercial laboratories, or related fields is preferred.
