Role & Responsibilities:

We are in search of an Assistant Product Manager for our Ghana Business Unit to assist Product/ Category Managers to formulate the long-term strategy of brands and implement marketing campaigns.

Main Task

  • Flawlessly implement and execute marketing activities to support business objectives.
  • Develop understanding of key customers to implement annual promotional plan and marketing programs that will increase visibility and drive velocity within end operators.
  • Assist in the design and support seasonal promotions, new product and program launches, and innovative marketing initiatives to drive volume and relationships
  • Assist Product Managers develop innovative programs and pitch partnerships to incubate new products and drive total brand awareness in an effort to support retail business.
  • Synthesize consumer insights and secondary market research to inform and optimize plans.
  • Understand business P&L, yearly marketing budget, schedules and production of all materials of sales and marketing.
  • Responsible for capturing Consumer forum activity and be able to do a post event activity.
  • Assist in the development of research and analysis – Develop research insight and together with the regional research team develop recommendations.
  • Work with both direct and 3rd party sales teams to ensure sales effectiveness and efficiency
  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Partner and Product teams to deliver a holistic pricing strategy that is mindful of total business.
  • Partner with Area Sales Managers to drive monthly account reviews and continue to fill account pipeline as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales to foster relationships with key customers, ensuring that we are bringing forward relevant solutions.
  • Ongoing management of product portfolio within the channel to ensure optimal assortment that delivers SKU-level profitability. Includes partnership with Product managers and marketing assistance to launch relevant innovation within foodservice channel.
  • Execute POS materials and signage, sales collateral and sales presentations, ensuring adherence to all brand guidelines.
  • Partner with Business Partner and Area sales to develop ongoing reporting against plan KPIs. Integrate insights into monthly business meetings.
  • Assist Product Managers to outline and track KPIs for digital for fiscal year and campaign specific deliverables
  • Assist and manage agency status meetings, competitor reviews, yearly strategy reverts from agency
  • Lead in driving ROMI within our media planning & buying
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activity
  • Provide compelling media insights
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with media owners as a means to secure advantageous terms and access to first opportunities in conjunction with channel agency

Requirements

  • Relevant University Degree
  • Minimum 4 years of Marketing and or Brand Management experience in complex companies in the FMCG world.
  • Strong analytical and product management skills; comfortable with syndicated data as well disparate data/comfort with ambiguity and/or limited data.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing vehicles and fundamentals.
  • Ability to analyze business trends and financial metrics, including sales, return on investments, and profit and loss.
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful with a drive to do what is needed to deliver growth – ability to think strategically, but not afraid of tactical execution; ability to work with limited resources.
  • Highly effective project management skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to work in a matrix environment, able to collaborate cross-functionally, and be a strong team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
