We are in search of a Quality Manager for the Ghana Business Unit who will act as a quality process facilitator for the organisation's factory and warehouses. The role holder will work closely with the Factory Manager, Regional Technical Manager and other professionals involved in the production process to develop foolproof implementation strategies to control the quality process and ensure the achievement of the plant’s performance ambitions.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare department budget forecasts in unison with the Factory Manager, to achieve the execution of quality commitments, correcting deviations and employing the necessary measures for their execution.
  • Propose and verify the update of specifications of raw materials, packaging, finished products etc. to adapt them to the production processes and guarantee the quality of the products.
  • Prepare and to update the proper procedures of the factory (HACCP, DDD ...), under the guidelines of the quality manual of the company.
  • Ensure that all people are adhere to policies and procedures related with quality process, and all data collection are recorded in the system (SAP).
  • Service and respond to all complaints carried out by the Public Administration, for consumers and clients, to ensure correct attention and response to the client.
  • Coordinate and supervise the quality control activities based on raw materials, finished products and auxiliary services (ETP, Water Treatment, etc..), with the purpose of guaranteeing the execution of established quality control standards.
  • Carry out the pursuit and control of the approval process and the execution of the raw materials specifications, packaging, finished products etc., reporting on the repetitive disputes that can take place and/or the trends that can affect the quality of the products.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and carry out proposed tests to obtain new products or adapt current ones to client requirements.
  • Supervise and control the state of all quality standards of the factory under the guidelines of the Plant Manager and Food Safety.

  1. Incoming Raw materials
  2. In process parameters
  3. Finished goods assessments and product release procedures
  • Undertake day to day process review and management of non-conformance
  • Carry out supplier portal management and quality evaluation of supplies
  • Coordinate quality management System and Policies implementation and continuous improvement
  • Carry out annual QMS performance review, identification and implementation of improvement actions
  • Manage the internal audits, certification audits and Non-conformity close out / corrective actions and preventive actions.

Requirements

  • Relevant Degree, e.g. Engineering, Consumer Sciences, Microbiology, etc. or Professional certification relevant to the role.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years managerial experience within a food-manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in team building and integration of Food Safety/Quality team into successful manufacturing operations in a LEAN environment.
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor in the Food Area would be an asset.
  • Background in microbiology preferred.
